INFLUENCE

Using Influence
The character gains one extra die for each dot of influence they have when making a roll that involves their chosen area of influence.

Example:
Player One wants to make an extended roll to try and spread a rumor throughout the local gangs in the city. He has two influence on gangs. They are rolling their Manipulation + Subterfuge, which are three and two respectively. Normally, five dice would be rolled, but since they have those two dots of influence, they would roll seven dice.

RETAINERS

Making a retainer:

Choose Nature and Demeanor.

Step Two: Select Attributes

Prioritize the three categories: Physical, Social, Mental (6/4/3). Your retainer automatically has one dot in each Attribute.
Rate Physical Traits: Strength, Dexterity, Stamina.
Rate Social Traits: Charisma, Manipulation, Appearance.
Rate Mental Traits: Perception, Intelligence, Wits.

Step Three: Select Abilities

Prioritize the three categories: Talents, Skills, Knowledges (11/7/3).
Choose Talents, Skills, Knowledges.
No Ability higher than 3

Step Four: Select Advantages
Merits - 4 points in free merits. No additional Merits can be purchased.

Flaws - You may select flaws for your retainer, up to 7 points worth, but you only recieve half the point value of the flaws in freebie points, rounded down. (If you take 7 points of flaws, you get 3 freebie points.)

Backgrounds - Retainers are not permited backgrounds.

Rate Virtues (5) - Your retainer automatically has one dot in each Virtue.

Freebie Points:

1 Dot: 7
2 Dots: 14
3 Dots: 21
4 Dots: 28
5 Dots: 35(This would be pretty close to the power of a starting 7/5/3 character who only had 12 freebie points.)

Freebie PointsL

Trait Cost:
Attribute 5 per dot
Ability 2 per dot
Disciplines(If a Ghoul): 7 per dot
Virtue 2 per dot
Willpower 1 per dot


If your retainer/s is/are ghouls, you are permenantly considered down 1 blood point due to having to provide them with vitae, per ghoul retainer.

One Dot: One person of minor importance/influence

Two Dots: Two people of minor importance/influence
OR one of moderate importance/influence

Three Dots: Three people of minor importance/influence
OR One of moderate influence/importance and One of minor importance/influence
OR One of major* influence/importance

Four Dots: Four people of minor importance/influence
OR Two of moderate influence/importance
OR One of major influence/importance and One of minor importance
OR One of extreme* influence/importance

Five Dots: Five people of minor importance/influence
OR Two of moderate influence/power and One of minor influence/importance
OR One of major influence/power and up to two of lesser importance
OR One of extreme influence/importance and One of minor influence/importance

*Allies or Contacts of this much power are obviously subject to ST approval.

If you are unsure of exactly how powerful an ally or contact should be, please ask the storytellers.

Examples:
Officer - 1 pt
Detective - 2 pts
Police Chief - 3 pts
Governor - 4 pts
